Технические изменения в Prius 2019 модельного года для рынка США:
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models ZVW55L-AHXEBA and ZVW55L-AHXGBA have been added. These have an Ni-MH HV battery and Q510 rear traction motor, with the same specifications—air-cooled induction motor, 5.3 kW maximum output, 55 N·m maximum torque, 201 V system voltage—as on E-Four models previously offered in Japan.
- The 2WD model with Ni-MH HV battery (ZVW50L-AHXEBA) is no longer offered.
- The exterior design has been changed. (“Inheriting the emotional image which the current model had established, the new model has evolved towards a bold yet clean direction.”)
- The brake control system includes Active Cornering Assist (ACA), which “makes use of the VSC [Vehicle Stability Control] system to apply braking force in situations where there is a tendency to experience understeer, which helps achieve enhanced cornering performance.”
- The rear brake pad material has been changed from NS254 to D6360.
- For models with 17-inch wheels, the shock absorbers have multi-leaf type linear control valves, rather than high response type piston valves.
- The engine intake valve timing ranges have been expanded: the earliest opening has been changed from 23° BTDC to 40° BTDC, and the earliest closing has been changed from 57° ABDC to 40° ABDC.
- The spark plug type has been changed from FC16HR-C9 to FC16HR-CY9.
- There is a new design for the fuel pump module and related components.
- Some models have an intelligent adaptive front-lighting system (AFS), which can swivel the headlights.
- All models with a navigation system have a DCM (data communication module), the telematics transceiver used for the Safety Connect feature.
- The No. 2 (rear) power outlet socket has been changed to a USB charger socket.
- Some models have a heated steering wheel system.
